Work starts on Nha Trang city General Hospital

A ceremony was held at My Gia Urban Area, Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa province on October 6 to start the construction of the Nha Trang city General Hospital, with total investment capital of more than VND 355 billion.

The Nha Trang City General Hospital is one of the main projects marking the 18th Khanh Hoa Provincial Communist Party Congress, for the 2020-2025 term.

The 200-bed hospital is being constructed on an area of more than 15,000 m2. The project has been invested in by the Department of Health with total funding for construction and medical equipment of over VND355 billion from the State budget and from the transfer of land use rights of medical facilities in Nha Trang City.

The hospital is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2023.

The hospital will have blocks of polyclinic and outpatient treatment; inpatient treatment (200 beds); subclinical techniques; administration; logistics and engineering; general services; and other auxiliary works. The block of inpatient treatment includes Internal Medicine, Traditional Medicine; Surgery, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, OdontoStomatology, Infectious Diseases and Emergency. The block of subclinical techniques includes Anesthesiology & Recovery; Imaging Diagnosis, Testing, Anapathology, Pharmacy, Nutrition and Infection Control.

In recent times, Nha Trang city has not had a hospital, only 5 regional polyclinics with a total of 130 patient beds, serving medical examination and treatment for more than 390,000 people. Most of these medical facilities were built a long time ago, so the facilities are in many cases degraded, narrow, and unsuitable for modern medical equipment.

The new hospital is expected to meet the healthcare demand of local people in the city as well as those in neighbouring provinces, helping reduce the load on higher-level hospitals.
